Despite looming large over the Salem Common, Roger Conant was the leader of the Salem colony for a very brief span of time and (to his chagrin) never got to name anything. Originally arriving at Plymouth, Conant is deeply entrenched as a founder figure of Salem. Join Salem Historical Society Board Member Carl Schultz as he discusses the life of Roger Conant and why there is a statue of a tall-hatted salter outside the Salem Witch Museum.
